About our matcha

All of the Matcha is freshly grind and shipped directly from the factory in Japan. This is how we can guarantee the quality and freshness which is very important when working with pure Matcha tea. We do not work with aged Matcha.

The BEST BY will be +2 years from the manufacture month. Example, if you place a order in DEC-2023, then BEST BY: DEC-2025

Matcha is a pure plant product, made from 100% Japanese Green Tea (powdered) and it's sensitive to heat, light and humidity, so the proper packaging is very important to keep the freshness.

Please note: This is real Matcha is coming from Japan. In these days, many of the online shops, like Amazon and eBay sells low quality, Chinese Matcha on low prices and many of those are sold as Japanese. It's no surprise that when Japanese Matcha tea grew in popularity, China began to export its own version as Chinese "Matcha”. However, the Chinese version, while much cheaper and more accessible, is not the perfect substitute for Japanese Matcha.

What makes the real Japanese Matcha tea popular are its quality & health benefits. The Matcha colour is more bright green, the taste is more complex and less bitter. Like the traditional Green Tea, Matcha contains a compound called “Epigallocatechin gallate” (EGCG), and its levels are typically much higher in Japanese Matcha.

Matcha Tea is a pure plant product, made from 100% Japanese Green Tea Leaves (Powdered). You can store unopened Matcha at room temperature, but please avoid direct heat, sun or strong light.

Once openened, please make sure to keep Matcha in properly closed because it's sensitive to humidity, heat or light. All of the packages (Tins and Zip Lock Bags) we use are tested and ideal for Matcha tea storage and closing air-tight.

Organic Certified tea is grown and processed with strict organic guidance, where there are no synthetic fertiliser used for pest and weed control or processing. Organic farms are controlled by ORGANIC (BIO) JAS regulations (Japanese Agricultural Standards) by JASCERT system.

We are an organic authorised manufacturer and exporter of Organic Matcha teas and we can ship Organic Matcha internationally with all necessary documents and certifications. All of our Organic Matcha grades are certified by USDA, EU-BIO, CANADA-BIO and JASCERT organic systems.

About the differences in taste and appearance:

Organic Matcha tends to taste a slightly less rich and sweet (more earthy) compared to the conventional Matcha grades, which is completely normal for Organic Matcha. The flavor and color of organic Matcha are slightly altered because organic fertilizer don’t have the kind of potent “instant effect” that chemical fertilizer have, so the crop gets its nutrients over a longer period of time.

The Japanese agricultural standards even for non-organically grown products are very strict and we guarantee the quality and safety for all of the Matcha grades we are working with.

Each of our Matcha grades are testes and approved for human consumption. More than 90% of the green tea produced in Japan is non-organic as the local consumption prefers normal Matcha because of the better taste, but in some countries (like in USA and EU countries) people trust more in ORGANIC / BIO certified products with the logos like USDA and EU-BIO.

The factory is certified by FSSC:22000 Certification (Food Safety System Certification) including following elements: ISO 22000:2018, ISO/TS 22002-1:2009. This is a widely used and approved safety production system certification with very strict regulations.

We are also certified by USA/FDA, HALAL, U-KOSHER and Rainforest Alliance.
