Hot Matcha
1.  Sift 1 teaspoon of matcha powder to ensure that all of the lil’ bits of matcha are broken up. Then add any type of sweetener of your liking.
2.  Pour in 1 tablespoon of hot water into the bottom of the mug.
3. Using a matcha whisk or an electric whisk, mix it up vigoroursly until a loose foamy paste forms. This part is very important because you want to make sure all and any bits of matcha have dissolved.
4. Pour in 1/4 cup of hot water and whisk again. It should be bright green at this point.
5. Warm 1/2 cup of any milk of your choice in the microwave or on the stove.
6. Whisk the milk vigorously to froth the milk a bit. Pour milk and whisk the entire matcha again, so the froths the milk a bit more.
As you become accustomed to Matcha, you can play with the quantities of powder vs. water to find exactly how it suits you. Some people prefer it very thick, while others like there’s light and thin.
